The Cagle Family
David and Zoe Anne have a daughter, Merritt and a son, Hunter.
David brings a well rounded view of the Christian life to First Presbyterian Church. He enjoys
sports of all kinds and is an avid skier, snow and water. He and Zoe Anne enjoy scuba diving,
hiking, and camping and look forward to sharing these adventures with their children as they
grow. They enjoy movies, a hand of cards, dinner parties, and honest conversation. What
they enjoy most about these activities are the opportunities they open for new friendships. As
they join with our congregation in the ministries of the church, they want to be an active part of
the ministry of fun and recreation.
Zoe Anne is a graduate of Davidson College and also a graduate of Columbia Theological
Seminary. After working full-time as the youth minister, children's minister, and educator, she
now spends her time at Southern Pines Primary as the kindergarten tutor, volunteering in Merritt
and Hunter's classrooms, and volunteering at the hospital as a chaplain associate. Her interests
include horses, sailing, tennis, running, reading, and arts and crafts. She looks forward
to finding new running buddies and tennis partners, as well as cultivating new friendships in
Kingsport.
Merritt loves to read and write short stories. She's active in
gymnastics on the pre-competitive team and is a gold belt in Tae Kwon Do. She loves her
dogs (Bud and Bohicket), climbing trees, picking up frogs, chasing lizards, and playing with
Hunter. She is a kind and compassionate little girl.
Hunter is also in gymnastics and is a yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do;
currently working on his gold belt. He loves basketball, golf, baseball, skateboards, bikes, and
unfortunately, TV. He has a quick sense of humor that keeps us on our toes. He also loves our
dogs and enjoys learning about exotic animals in his zoo magazine and on Discovery Channel.
