Committee Structure
First Presbyterian Church is blessed with extraordinary talent and creativity within our membership and we recognize that this wonderful resource affords us the opportunity to more fully respond to the desires and needs of our members. To that end, the Church Session has commissioned several standing committees.
· Worship - The sacred worship of God is the heart of our life as a family of faith. Our worship committee concentrates on matters related to all worship services, the music ministry, administration of ushers and greeters, church decorations, weddings and funerals, the weekly radio broadcast, audio/visual support, acolyte recruiting and training and church flowers.
· Christian Education - Responsible for our education ministries, including all church schools, worship for children, confirmation class, curriculum development, teacher training, library and resource operations and Church Night Supper programming.
· Spiritual Growth - The vision of this committee is to continually seek and implement ways to develop or renew individual spiritual growth. This is accomplished through prayer and devotional activities, lecture series, Covenant Groups and encouraging active lay participation.
· Evangelism & Membership Development - "Church Family" is a core foundational value at First Presbyterian Church. Each new member is carefully oriented to the many resources and opportunities available to them and their family. This committee is also charged with growing membership through spreading the word of the many faith-based services and programs at First Presbyterian. Serving our church family through effective communication and evangelism opportunities is also an ongoing focus of this committee.
· Youth Ministries - Guiding and supporting activities of interest to the youth in the church is of paramount importance at First Presbyterian Church. The Youth Ministries Committee actively offers direction toward facilitating youth based programs including Sunday Night Fellowship, Youth Music Program, Youth in Worship, and a variety of special events.

· Outreach - Nurturing relationships and organizing special offerings with numerous local Christian organizations including Interfaith Hospitality, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity and Red Cross is a large part of the work of our Outreach Committee. This team works to extend the Church's ministries beyond our congregational family.
· Administration - Overseeing the church staff, this committee offers expertise and recommendations regarding wages, position content, performance evaluation. The committee also provides guidance in areas of long range strategic planning, leadership growth and development, membership development, childcare operations, the church newsletter and the church membership directory.
